FULGOR STELLAE, el destello de una estrella
Fulgor Stellae was a collective exhibition organised by the City Council of Algeciras in 2016 and the curators were Juan Carlos Ragel, Antonio López Canales and Juan Zahara.
The exhibition brought together thirty or so artists from different parts of Andalusia and with their work they paid tribute to Paco de Lucía, the great guitarist who, with the utmost respect for the deepest roots of our art, revolutionised flamenco and the flamenco guitar by taking it to the top venues of the planet.
He never forgot Algeciras, his birthplace, it was always in his heart and thoughts, he cherished it with his masterly music.
These pieces were included in the exhibition, and they have been generously donated by the artists who have signed them. Their titles range from themes composed by the maestro to the musical performance of the marine scenery that he always looked for, such as Chorruelo, a small beach of the Isla Verde with crystal clear water, which the maestro dedicated one of his bulerías to. It was a place of inspiration, relaxation and rest for many of the locals from Algeciras and Paco de Lucía himself as a child and a young person.
